Effective Dandruff Control

Dandruff is annoying and can even be embarrassing if you have a more serious version of it. Dandruff control is important to keep your skin healthy and yourself happy. There are plenty of products out there that will help you control your dandruff problems. Not all will be as effective, and it's a matter of trying different products before you find one that really does the job. What kind of dandruff control products you go after depends on the severity of your dandruff. The well known products usually work the best if your situation isn't that bad. Your skin type is also a deciding factor, if you have sensitive skin then you would do well to try natural dandruff remedies. I personally prefer a product that isn't too aggressive because it will only irritate the skin on my scalp which causes me to scratch the area only making the dandruff worse. The mild version of Head and Shoulders (R) has helped me get rid of most of my dandruff. But again it really depends on what your skin can handle. The regular version is a bit more aggressive but might be fine for you. They aren't that expensive so it's worth trying both.

What I do to prevent dandruff? Well I use natural bath oils that I apply to the scalp area and let it work for an hour or so before I go to bed. You need the hour for the oil to be fully absorbed by your skin. I usually end up with a soft scalp and my girlfriend likes it so that's a bonus!

As you may have noticed I do not recommend a specific product but rather recommend you to try several, starting with natural products that don't contain aggressive chemicals. If those don't work then try a mild shampoo from the bigger brands. A good shampoo will control your dandruff and minimize the appearance of white flakes on your shoulders. It's a bit of trial and error, but in the end you'll be glad you spend some time on finding that perfect dandruff control shampoo.

Oh and if you are currently using a shampoo that causes itching on your head you may want to replace it as soon as possible. Bad shampoos are one of the causes of dandruff. Also make sure you properly cleanse your hair of shampoo residue, to prevent further irritation of the skin.
